Survey monkey responses

These are some of responses we received from audiences, this helped us with our evaluation. as well as helping us with our evaluation it also let us know what people thought about our video and if we made our themes clear enough and if linked it well with the lyrical content. We I found out from this that the people who listened to R&B mostly they didn't understand 'alternative rap' or didn't know what it was. this could be that this subgenre is only exposed to certain type of audience.

Improvements: Poster and Back cover (finished products) - FINAL PIECES

As we wanted our print products to have a continuous theme and elements we decided to change some of the fonts to show that all of the products come in one package. In order to keep the consistency going in our print products we changed some of the fonts on our poster and back cover.

For our front cover the changes that we made were that the artists name - 'Rejjie Snow' and the name of the song 'USSR' had similar fonts to the front cover we changed the original fonts to 'OCR A Extended'  which is shown as typewriter. The changes made shows continuity within our digipacks and magazine adverts.

OLD
COVER
In terms our back cover, we made some few adjustments to the artists name and producers name also we changed the font to terminal for its originally of font. Again this shows consistency within our work. We used this fonts on our poster and back cover.

Magazine Advert (finished)

This our magazine advert that we produced, this magazine advert would be found in magazines such as Hunger magazine, XXL, Complex, etc.

Magazine advert progression

This is the house-style and layout we want for our poster.

This when we chose the fonts we wanted to use for our poster and we following the same layout. We then put logos of the record label and soundcloud logo. We wil also include Rejjie's website also giving the audience different medians to were they can find the artists music. and these are the potential fonts we could use.

We decided to make the poster background black as it fits in with the dark tone of the imagery. Also as we wanted to make the text white a black background colour was the best option. The black background doesn't look like we've made the image smaller.

This our finished product

Back Cover (finished)

This is the back cover of our case, it consists of the record label Rejjie signed to and paying homage to the over people who were involved in this track. We religiously studied our house-style in order to make it look as professional as possible.

CD Disc/ Insides of CD Case (finised)

Edited this picture and added a glitch effect to it. we thought it would be creative and different to do so. We were trying out our options and decided to use it. this would be on the left side of our CD case.

This is the picture we used for the right side of the case where the CD would be covering. and this is how it would look if the CD was placed in the case

this is our finished product for our CD

Front Cover (finished)

House style for the back cover/ Back cover layout

This is Dr. Dre back cover of a single featuring snoop dogg, we really liked this so we used this as our house-style to create our own.

Besides Dr. Dre's album cover we also looked at Taylor Swifts back cover in terms of layout we liked how it was simple and it was an element of post-modernism as its a completely different genre of music to our chosen one. But we liked how simple it looked it's an inspiration for our own.

this is a rush layout of how we want our back cover to look and where we want our text to be placed.

CD disc progress

Firstly we created the shape of the disc removing everything else on the layer but the circle of the disc.

We used the rulers here so that we could cut out another circle in the middle and to get it in the middle we hand to get the centre point.

In this picture we have put the glitch effect on the disc which links to the inside cover picture. we also added some text on to this disc so that it fits in with the rest of the package.
this is our finally product after editing.

Back cover progress

This was our original template idea for our back cover but we decided we would only have the song of the track on the back cover, making it a single release package instead of an EP back cover.

This became our template and layout of our back cover, this how our text will be placed.

this our final product.

Front Cover Progress

this is our chosen layout for our front cover, we didn't want too much text on our front cover as we wanted our audience to mainly focus on our image.

This the ideas we came up with for our front cover, we decided go with the first picture because we thought it would look nice as a front cover. But because we liked the other pictures we decided we may use them for something else.

Glitch/LVC (Experiments)

I attempted to glitch and LVC some of these photographs we took, and we intend on using this for our finished product. A lot of different art work by upcoming young artists have inspired to do so. Glitch pictures are not really used much when it comes to covers and adverts I thought it would different as it's moving from a different median besides TV and music videos. Our inspiration for this came from a tumblr artist named 'Black Anubi$' he is a young Londoner with an amazing talent. Even though his glitches are fashion based this still inspired us to try t glitch our images

Font ideas

The screen shots above are fonts that attracted us to be our single's title for the CD packaging. We used the program 'Illustrator' to choose a variety of fonts that would be suitable for the cd package as well as our chosen genre. The type of fonts that we were looking for were fonts that are simple and readable so that the text is clear to read.

The font that we chose was the 'type writer', we liked this font because it's simple and it would fit in with our genre and type of cover we are going for. We asked several people on which fonts they think our package would suit our genre of music. But our main intentions was for it to be simple but still effective.
